Objective
To be the best of the best.
Experience
Born - 1957
- I saw the light.
- I was in Berkeley.
- A hippy born 10 years too late.
1976 - 1979 US Army
- A mistake, but as with all of life, much was learned.
- Took advantage of military life, black and white photography was virtually free, and I traveled Eruope, among other things.
1979 - 2004 Semiconductor Industry
- Self taught electronics, some college courses in the fun stuff (calculus, chemistry, physics, tennis, etc).
- This was a great career, it was state of the art and I was on the leading edge. It required me to learn continuously, and I was able to learn directly from the best in the world. When IBM took a picture of it's name spelled out with molecueles, I knew how they did it. I worked on machines similar.
- Unfortunately, semiconductor manufacture requiers hugh corporations, and hugh corporations are ultimately (and in most cases ONLY) beholden to the almighty dollar. So when silicon valley started to put in stringent anti-pollution laws (post Fairchild), semicondutor manufacture mostly left for places that don't care if thier ground water is polluted (like China or Texas). So, when I got layed off, I decided to try my hand at software. I'm still learning.
2004 - Present Self Employed
- No more 9 to 5!
- No more monthly paycheck :-(
- Freedom.
Education
1957 - Present School of Hard Knocks
